Geoff and Katherine’s Large Pool Build
Our clients Geoff and Katherine recently purchased a new home in Windsor. They had long dreamt of having a swimming pool and they contacted us at WInrani for some ideas on how to achieve this. They had a large unused area in their backyard and wanted to fill this up with a lively pool and lifestyle area for swimming and entertaining.
This concrete pool project came with some significant challenges. Their new home stood on a major road, making deliveries tough and site access tricky. The ground area had some underground services, like water and sewer lines, that needed redirecting, complicating the excavation. Katherine also wanted to keep her ornamental pear trees on the property.
Our inhouse architects carried out some careful pool construction planning for this Windsor project. Our Winrani onsite team had to ensure minimal disruption to the trees, while meeting our client’s expectations. Balancing many factors required meticulous coordination and expertise. They settled on one of our modern rectangular concrete pool designs, which was at ground level, blending seamlessly with the yard. To Katherine’s delight, the pear trees were also included in the final design. This required precise setbacks from the trees, while our landscaping team ensured their preservation.
Their pool build measured at 5.4m long, 3m wide and its depth ranged from 1.1m to 1.8 m, which makes it one of our large sized pools. The sloping gradient was popular and the interior is finished with pebble render and waterline tiles. Geoff favoured a colour finish which is a mix of blue and clear glass beads, sparkling under the sun and mimicking the ocean’s clarity. We completed the job with frameless glass fencing, to meet with NSW building regulations. The glass kept the view uninterrupted, while ensuring safety.
